Diluc Ragnvindr was born into the Ragnvindr Clan, an ancient and noble family based in Mondstadt. Mondstadt was a realm under the purview of Barbatos, the Anemo Archon and God of Freedom, and was one of the seven nations on the continent of Teyvat. Though Barbatos, who placed supreme importance on the freedom of his people, was an absentee ruler, Mondstadt still flourished as a peaceful and carefree realm under the governance of the valorous Knights of Favonius. The Ragnvindr Clan notably traced its lineage to a noble warrior who aided Barbatos in defeating tyrannical aristocrats who controlled the nation a thousand years ago.
