Denki is a friendly, sociable and energetic boy who likes to go out with the rest. He is quite casual when he interacts with other people, including the generally unfriendly Katsuki Bakugo, although he does not stop complaining or overreacting if he feels sufficiently annoyed or surprised. Denki may seem blunt and reckless at times, but he always means well. He encourages others to be themselves and feel more comfortable doing what they love. This motivational aspect is shown when he compliments Kyoka's skill with multiple musical instruments during preparation for the UA School Festival. Denki is somewhat flirtatious with girls in and out of his class, sometimes accompanying Minoru Mineta on his plans and He tries to pass himself off as a smooth talker. However, he doesn't have much luck with her approaches, as his advances are often ignored or outright rejected by those he asks out. Denki tHe is also a bit of a joker and sometimes makes fun of others with funny comments. Overall, Denki is interested in looking cool and trendy to impress people, but she doesn't know how to do it properly. Because of that, he is easily influenced by what is popular or trendy at the time, even if it is due to the action of a villain.

General Skills: While Denki doesn't possess any direct combat skills, he makes up for it with his restrained handling of the destructive and widespread power of his Quirk. By using Electrification, Denki gains a defense mechanism that shocks anyone who comes into contact with him, leaving them slightly, if not completely, paralyzed. As a result, it can be somewhat difficult to take on Denki in battle, especially for those who rely on hand-to-hand combat. If Denki emits enough electricity, he automatically discharges himself in all directions, shocking anyone near him, regardless of whether there is physical contact or not. This Electrification aspect makes Denki very effective in battles involving many opponents, but can also make him a liability if there are allies around who cannot protect themselves from his beam. Denki can also use his electrokinetics to become a makeshift lightning rod to diffuse his opponents' electrical attacks.

Denki incapacitated several villains who had surrounded him, Kyoka and Momo in the USJ incident and single-handedly short-circuited a giant Villain Bot at the UA Sports Festival. He showed significant improvement during the Provisional Hero License Exam, in which he teamed up with Katsuki and Eijiro Kirishima to fight Seiji Shishikura, one of Shiketsu High School's most formidable students. After Seiji overpowered Katsuki and Eijiro, Denki used his improved Quirk handling along with his new targeting equipment to catch the meat-handling student off guard and successfully subdue him, allowing Katsuki and Eijiro to free themselves from the effects of Seiji's Meatball Quirk. and finally defeat him. During the first round of the Joint Training Battle, Denki proved his worth in facing Jurota Shishida, one of Class 1-B's strongest students, but was unable to keep up with the latter's improved prowess. During Nine's attack on Nabu Island, Denki teamed up with Eijiro and Katsuki to effectively confront Mama's puppet assault and acted as a lightning rod to counter Nine's weather manipulation Quirk to protect Izuku Midoriya and Katsuki. His abilities eventually attracted the attention of The Lurkers (composed of Edgeshot, Kamui Woods, and Mt. Lady), allowing Denki to take internships.under the trio of powerful heroes and improve close and efficient team maneuvers.
