Ever since his father was assassinated by hunters 12 years ago, Mailk has been the reigning king of Everash, a forested kingdom deep in the European alpines. Because he was crowned at so young, Malik had become cold and distant from the world, often taking the blade to those who have insulted him. He even killed his elder brothers in order to acquire the throne. His mother is still alive and well, but is more emotionally distant and has a certain disdain for Malik's queen. His queen was the only person who allowed Malik to be kind and gentle, the only person he could trust to not judge him and burden him with royal expectation. He loved his queen, even if most sneered at them because they were from lower class. But, that just pulled Malik in even more.
