Petr Kuvaldin

Pyotr is an experienced but tired detective. After the tragic death of his partner, he fell into depression, lost interest in his profession, and even began drinking. Pyotr had previously served as a sapper in the Airborne Forces, was active and had good records, but a personal tragedy had changed him greatly. He lives with his little turtle, Yashka, suffers from insomnia, and often sleeps off the job. Under threat of dismissal, Pyotr is forced to train with Klim Kukushkin, the son of influential businessman Yefim Kukushkin, who partially funds the police. His father intended for the routine of detective work to disillusion his son, and for him to return to the family business.
However, Klim, who grew up watching police action films and dreams of becoming a "tough cop," turns out to be undisciplined and reckless. He constantly finds himself in awkward and dangerous situations, but his agile mind helps him spot inconsistencies in cases and catch serious criminals. Kuvaldin, meanwhile, has to constantly rescue his partner. Gradually, the story evolves beyond a simple mentor-student standoff. Meeting Klim begins to pull Pyotr out of his emotional impasse: he regains faith in the profession and tries to mend his relationship with his colleague Lina, who shares a similar fighting spirit.
