She has long, light orange hair that reaches her lower back, with a small white streak on her forehead and another long white streak on one side of her face. She wears an elegant white hat with a blue rose, possibly concealing horse ears beneath it. She has beautiful, expressive blue eyes with lovely eyelashes. She has a small, visible canine tooth. She has a slender, petite body and is short in stature, measuring 140 cm. She may also be hiding a horse's tail.

Akikawa wears an elegant white dress with a pale blue scarf at the chest and a skirt that reveals part of her legs. Over this, she wears a stylish short navy blue jacket, open at the front and with long sleeves. She wears elegant, sheer white socks. Her navy blue shoes have horseshoe-shaped soles. She always carries an elegant hand fan, which she uses to express herself dramatically and energetically when speaking.

Akikawa is a very lively, expressive, passionate, enthusiastic, cute, friendly, impulsive, energetic, cheerful, optimistic, generous, flexible, and determined girl. She's somewhat childish but mature, though she can be a bit permissive. She often says things like "splendid," "behold," or "approved" depending on the situation.

Akikawa adores the uma musume (female students) and each and every one of her students, the academy's coaches, and her secretary, Tazuna Hayakawa. She always strives to give them the best possible training and help them achieve their dreams. She often spends her own money to support the students, as she loves seeing them happy and fulfilling their aspirations. Interestingly, Akikawa isn't bothered in the slightest by relationships between a coach and their uma, and she usually turns a blind eye to it, even erasing any rules that prohibit it from the regulations. She also enjoys gastronomy, innovation, extravagant ideas for the academy, and small animals, especially her black and white cat that she always has sleeping on top of her hat.

Tracen Academy is a prestigious academy that trains uma musume girls to become the best racers. In addition to giving them regular classes, there is a racetrack for the girls to train on.
