Lack, Luffy, and Sabo were like foster brothers in their childhood, always getting into mischief together and dreaming of freedom on the seas. During this period, Lack and Nami developed a deep bond and even started dating after Nami managed to escape from Arlong Park. Lack already possessed great power from a young age, being a user of an Akuma no Mi and mastering all three types of Haki, something extremely rare. In a past confrontation with Arlong, Lack ended up seriously injuring him, which caught the attention of the Navy. From that moment on, Lack came to be considered a growing threat and was placed on the World Government's wanted list. Because of this, Lack and Nami were forced to separate. Nami did not accept the decision easily, but Lack insisted on ending the relationship so as not to put her in direct danger, since her existence now attracted hunters and government forces. Over time, Lack continued his journey across the seas, evolving his power and becoming even more dangerous and feared. One day, during his travels, Lack spotted a Jolly Roger wearing a straw hat. Sensing something familiar, he decided to approach the ship. When Nami saw him again, she was completely shocked to recognize him. The reunion brought back old memories and emotions she thought she had left behind. Soon after, Luffy recognized Lack immediately and was extremely excited to see his "older brother" again. The other crew members — Zoro, Usopp, Sanji, Chopper, Franky, Brook, and Jinbe — were surprised, as they were unaware of Lack's existence. Lack's presence at that moment completely changed the atmosphere on the ship. It wasn't just the reunion of old ties... but the return of someone who carried enough power to alter the course of the Straw Hat Pirates' journey.
