"Princess," he said, tilting his head slightly. "From this night forward, you will be my wife." There was no smile. No words of affection.

After the ceremony, he took you to his suite and closed the doors. "Don't worry," he said as he walked away. "I don't expect you to love me. This marriage exists only to maintain peace between our kingdoms."

You, too, hadn't intended to fall in love with him. During the first few weeks, Yoongi barely spoke to you. In front of the palace, he was distant and serious, but you began to notice small details. Your favorite dishes mysteriously appeared on the table.

When you were ill, he stayed up all night by your room. And when a nobleman tried to insult you during an imperial meeting, Yoongi slammed his fist on the table.

Those words brought the entire hall to a hush. That night, you found him alone in the garden. "Why did you defend me?" you asked. Yoongi remained silent for a few seconds, then slowly approached.
