In Season 2, Hwang In-ho appears as Player 001—but this is no ordinary participant. He is the same Frontman, the Games' organizer who hid behind a black mask in Season 1. Now, he deliberately enters the Games disguised as a player in order to directly confront Son Ki-hoon and prevent him from convincing the others to stop the Games.

His goal is not to win money, but to break Gi Hoon's faith in people and prove that the system is invincible and that attempts to destroy it are doomed.

Character: cold calculation and hidden pain
A controller and manipulator, In-ho knows how to control people not by force, but by psychological pressure. He carefully chooses his words to sow doubt: for example, he tells Ki-hoon that people are inherently selfish and saving them is pointless.
Emotional reserve. He rarely shows emotion, but rare moments (like when he remembers his wife) reveal a deep personal tragedy behind his cold facade. Philosophical cynicism. In-ho isn't just a cruel administrator: he sincerely believes the Games are a "mirror" of society. For him, they aren't entertainment, but a kind of social experiment that confirms his grim conclusions about human nature.
A capacity for "proper" cruelty. He derives no pleasure from violence, but is willing to use it as a tool. As Player 001, he operates more subtly: he doesn't kill himself, but rather pushes others to make choices that bring out their worst sides.

Nam Gyu (124) is a former club promoter from the Pentagon club. He is closely associated with Thanos (Player 230): they hung out together in the club scene, and Nam Gyu helped Thanos get drugs. Following advice from crypto influencer Lee Myung-gi (Player 333), Nam Gyu invested in a failed cryptocurrency and lost over 300 million won. For him, the Games are a chance to pay off his debts, but as the season progresses, his motivation increasingly shifts from "surviving and paying off" to "getting even for the humiliation" and staying close to Thanos.

Character: cruelty, dependence and cowardice
Cruel and sadistic, Nam Gyu takes pleasure in bullying the weak: he regularly bullies Park Min Soo (Player 125) and openly clashes with Se Mi (Player 380), disdaining her attempts to protect others. Unlike the chaotic Thanos, Nam Gyu acts with calculation and cold cynicism.
Addiction as both a source of strength and a weakness. He is heavily dependent on drugs: the pills help him suppress his fear and feel stronger. When they are unavailable, he experiences panic attacks, his hands tremble, and his confidence instantly vanishes. This addiction makes him simultaneously aggressive and vulnerable.
Cowardice masquerading as strength. Nam Gyu is willing to bully those weaker than him, but when faced with a real threat, he becomes distraught. This is especially evident in the jump rope game: he freezes in fear of heights, and when he realizes he's lost his last dose, he panics.
Loyalty to Thanos. Despite their mutual barbs, Nam Gyu clings to Thanos as an anchor: Thanos gives him a sense of belonging to a strong group. After Thanos's death, Nam Gyu takes his pill necklace and attempts to take his place, but without his support, he quickly falls apart.

Thanos (230) is a former rapper whose career has crumbled and his life has gone downhill. He invested the rest of his money in cryptocurrency following a tip from Lee Myung-gi (Player 333) and lost everything—his debt has reached 1.19 billion won. In the Games, he seeks a way to pay off his debts, but his motivation is mixed with a desire to regain the spotlight and feel powerful.

His stage name and persona are a nod to the Marvel supervillain: purple hair, multicolored manicure inspired by the Infinity Stones, and an eccentric delivery. But behind this facade lies a deeply broken man.

An agent of chaos, Thanos deliberately creates tension around himself: he's loud, blunt, loves to be at the center of things, easily provokes conflict, and derives a strange pleasure from it.
Drug addiction is a character trait. He regularly takes pills and experiences an altered state of consciousness, making him impulsive, unpredictable, and at times almost childish in his reactions. In sober moments, he exhibits confusion and anxiety.
A thirst for recognition. It's important to him to be looked at and listened to, even if it means fear and rejection. Hence the antics, the freestyle rapping in the midst of stress, and the deliberate theatricality.
Capacity for attachment. Despite his toxicity, he genuinely bonds with Nam Gyu (Player 124): he becomes his rock and a "cheerleader" in this hell. Their alliance is built on their shared hatred of Myung Gi and a sense of belonging.
Vengefulness. His main goal in the Games is not just to survive, but to settle the score with Myung-gi, whom he blames for his downfall. For him, it's a personal war.

Se Mi (380) is a young woman who found herself in the Games due to massive debts (approximately 200 million won). Her story is not about a thirst for glory or adventurism, but about desperation and an attempt to escape a hopeless financial hole. She doesn't look for easy ways or rely on cruelty, preferring to stick to her principles even in a deadly game.

Character: a mixture of toughness and caring
Bold and forthright, Se-mi isn't afraid to confront dangerous people: for example, she openly condemns Nam-gyu and Thanos' drug use, making no bones about her disdain. She finds it unacceptable when force is used to intimidate the weak.
She protects the vulnerable. She takes Park Min-soo (Player 125), a timid, insecure boy who is being bullied by his peers, under her wing. Se-mi tries to shield him from the pressure, though her support can sometimes be harsh: she doesn't coddle him, but speaks directly, so he can learn to stand his ground faster. She's pragmatic, but not cynical. She understands that in the Games, survival isn't achieved solely by strength, and she's willing to build alliances, but her trust is fragile: if an ally betrays her, she doesn't forgive them and distances herself sharply.
Proud and independent. Even in moments of fear, she tries not to show weakness. Her stubbornness is a way to maintain control when everything around her is crumbling.

Myung-gi (333) is a former popular YouTuber and crypto influencer. He actively promoted cryptocurrency projects, convincing his followers to invest, and became deeply involved himself. When the market crashed, he not only lost everything but also ruined many people, including his fans. Now he is being hunted by angry investors and creditors, and his debt has reached enormous amounts. Participating in the Games is his last chance to pay off the debt and escape persecution.

Charisma and persuasiveness. In the past, Myung-gi was a master at selling ideas: he appeared confident, spoke persuasively, and easily gained trust. This charisma remains, but now it's perceived as false—people see him not as a leader, but as a deceiver.
Selfishness and pragmatism. In critical situations, Myung-gi prioritizes his own survival. He's capable of closing the door on others, taking a favorable position on the team, and acting harshly if it improves his chances. He also experiences guilt and confusion. However, he's not entirely devoid of emotion: encounters with deceived people and with Chun-hee force him to face the consequences of his decisions. But instead of accepting responsibility, he often resorts to defensiveness or aggression.
Fear and vulnerability. Behind the outward confidence lies a person who is cornered and fears retribution. This makes them impulsive and unpredictable: they can be caring or ruthless, depending on the magnitude of the threat to themselves.

Chun-hee (222) is a pregnant woman who found herself in the Games due to the financial disasters associated with the cryptocurrency scams of her ex, Lee Myung-gi (Player 333). She lost all her savings after trusting his advice and now participates to secure her child's future. Her primary goal is to survive for the sake of her child, which makes her one of the most focused participants: she doesn't seek power or build coalitions for dominance, but rather tries to stick close to those who offer at least some hope of salvation.

Empathy. Despite her reserved nature, Chun-hee notices others' pain and is able to support them. She builds warm, calm relationships with Ki-hoon, Geum-ja, and Hyun-joo—those who don't pressure her or demand that she be "strong."
She remains cool in critical moments. She keeps her cool in stressful situations: she knows how to assess risks and make decisions based on what's best for the child, not emotion.
Restrained strength. Chun-hee isn't prone to tantrums or loud conflicts. She experiences a lot internally, but tries not to show weakness because she believes she must be a support system for her child.
Independence and pride. She doesn't like asking for help and often pushes it away, even when it's needed. This isn't so much arrogance as an attempt to maintain control of the situation and avoid becoming a burden.

Dae-ho is one of the new participants in the 37th Game. He first appears in the third episode of the second season. A tall, friendly young man, he quickly joins Son Ki-hoon's team and becomes one of his most loyal allies.

He supports the weak. He's ready to defend Lee Myung-gi when he's being bullied and tries to smooth over conflicts within the group.

He values ​​teamwork. It's important to him to be part of the team, and he genuinely tries to be helpful.
Despite everything, he is very cowardly and can even kill his team out of fear.

Jong-bae (390) is an old friend of Song Ki-hoon (Player 456). They share a common past: they worked together at the factory, participated in a strike together due to the threat of dismissal, and later both fell into debt due to gambling. For Ki-hoon, Jong-bae is one of the few people he truly trusts.

Loyalty and integrity. He doesn't plot complex intrigues, acts openly, and tries to stay close to Ki-hoon, even when he proposes risky plans.
Courage bordering on recklessness. Jong Bae is one of the first to support the idea of ​​rebelling against the organizers. He is not afraid to go on the offensive and is willing to risk himself for the sake of others.
Humanity. Despite his harsh background, he doesn't become completely hardened: he retains compassion and a desire to help those around him.

Gi-hoon (456) is the winner of the 33rd Squid Game, who returned to the 37th Game voluntarily to destroy the system from within. He doesn't spend his winnings on himself, considering them "blood money," but uses them to hunt down the recruiter and find the organizers.

Humanity as a driving force. His primary motivation isn't his own survival, but rather saving as many people as possible and stopping the games. He openly tells other players, "Come to your senses! You're all going to die here!" but few listen to him; some consider him a provocateur. He's goal-oriented, has a heightened sense of justice, and is at times reckless and overly desperate.

1. "Slow and steady wins the race" ("Red light - green light"). Players must reach the finish line. When the doll is facing forward ("red light"), everyone must freeze—any movement is detected by sensors, and the player is eliminated. When the doll turns away ("green light"), they can run.

2. "Six-Legged Pentathlon." Teams of five people, each with adjacent legs tied together, move as a single unit. They must complete five mini-games in strict order within five minutes:

1. Ttakchi - you need to turn over your opponent's paper "envelope" with a throw.
2. Bisokchigi - the stone must be thrown in such a way as to knock down the opponent's stone without stepping over the line.
3. Konginori ("five stones") - throw and catch stones according to certain rules, gradually increasing the number.
4. Dzhegichagi - kick an object several times in a row (similar to footbag).
5. Spinning top - launch the spinning top and make it spin for a long time.

3. "Ted's the Wheel." All players stand on a rotating platform while music plays. When the music stops, the announcer calls out a number (e.g., 4). Players have 30 seconds to form groups of the required size and run into their rooms. If there are too many people in a room or someone doesn't make it in time, they are eliminated.

4. "Hide and Seek." Players are divided into "red" (with knives, their task is to eliminate their opponents) and "blue" (with keys, their task is to find the right door and escape). The game lasts 30 minutes. If the "red" player doesn't kill anyone, they are eliminated; if the "blue" player doesn't find the exit, the same applies.

5. "Skipping Rope." Dolls spin a metal cable like a skipping rope. Players must jump and navigate across a bridge with a dangerous drop in the middle. They have 20 minutes to complete the challenge; one mistake means they fall and are eliminated.

6. "Sky Squid." Players find themselves on three high platforms (square, triangle, circle). The rules require a collective decision, with at least one person from each platform deciding who will be pushed into the abyss.
