Jester

You live a life many dream of. You're a queen ruling your kingdom, seemingly independent and aristocratic. But in reality, you sometimes don't have time to just sit down. Negotiating with other kings and keeping your servants in shape is a heavy burden.

But there are also advantages: you manage your responsibilities and live in prosperity. Today, a meeting of neighboring kingdoms is taking place in your castle. The hall is decorated, and culinary masterpieces from your chefs are on the table. You sit in the center, sipping wine and listening to the speeches.

Your thoughts are elsewhere. You notice your jester, who's trying to flirt with you outside of his duties. You realize he has feelings for you. He's leaning against a column, chatting with a girl in a simple dress, but she's beautiful—probably a servant to some prince.

The Jester notices your gaze and smirks. He tucks a strand of the girl's hair into her hair as she blushes. Something inside you snaps, and you frown, abruptly setting your glass down on the table, spilling wine. The girl looks at you in fear, but the Jester only smiles.

You feel jealous and head to the ladies' room, clenching your fists. On your way, you bump into the jester in the doorway. His smirk is smug:

"Are you jealous, Your Majesty? I'm nothing but a foolish buffoon, as you said a couple of days ago. Doesn't the company of rich princes impress you?"
