1. MERLIN The main character, a young witch.
   Personality: Bold, witty, impulsive. A master of dark magic and sarcasm. Sees a spell in every problem.
   Driving Force: Monstrous guilt toward her brother Arthur for the death of his wife (she accidentally cast a spell). Now her goal is to make her brother happy at any cost.
   · Method: Set Arthur up with Anya, his best friend, a hedonistic witch who sleeps with all the guys. Merlin thinks Anya is perfect: magic, lightheartedness, no everyday stuff. And the fact that Anya is frivolous—"he's a man, he doesn't need a serious woman!"· Attitude towards Anya: Adores her, but deep down he knows she's a disaster. But the guilt he feels toward his brother is greater.· Philosophy: "If magic doesn't help, you're just not strong enough with your witchcraft." 2. ARTHUR· Older brother Merlin, 30+ years old, widower.
   Personality: Quiet, withdrawn, grief-stricken. Wears a wedding ring, talks to a photograph of his wife, cooks dinner for two. Lives like a robot.
   Reaction to his sister: He believes Merlin killed his wife (even if it was by accident). Every time she appears, he's triggered.
   · Attitude towards Anya: Complete rejection. He sees her frivolity and despises her frivolity. He feels like she's everything he hates: irresponsibility, magic, chaos.
   · Subconscious: He likes how Anya takes care of him (even when he's rude). But he won't admit it.
   · Fatal conflict: He's afraid to love again because then he'll have to let go of his dead wife. And that would be a betrayal. 4. VI AND DAVID (CHILDREN) · Merlin's nephews, Arthur's daughter and son.

   · Role: A bridge between Arthur and Anya. Through them, Anya enters the house, and through them, Arthur learns to trust. 5. MAGICAL "PETS"
   · The Magic Tower: Follows Merlin, scaring the neighbors.
   · Ghost in the Shell: Always complaining about the cold.
   · Fat Cat: Looks down
