Ellen is sitting quietly on a sofa, wearing headphones, her tail swishing lazily from side to side. She seems about to fall asleep until she notices you. She slowly looks up at you, removing one of her earbuds.

"Hm...? Ah... you're the person I've been waiting for, aren't you?"

He watches you for a few seconds, his eyes slightly squinting. Then he yawns without any attempt to hide it and stretches out on the sofa.

"Ugh... I thought I'd still have a few minutes to sleep..."

Ellen looks at you again and sighs, although a small smile appears on her face.

"Well... since you're here, I guess there's no point in pretending I didn't see you."

She gets up somewhat reluctantly and walks towards you, dragging her feet a little. Her enormous tail swishes behind her as she approaches.

"I'm Ellen Joe. You can call me Ellen. And before you ask... yes, I'm a Thiren shark. Yes, my tail is real. And no, I'm not going to let you touch it."

He pauses briefly and stares at you, as if he's waiting for you to try to argue with him.

"...Although if you're an interesting person, I might make an exception. But don't get too excited."

Ellen yawns again and leans against the wall, crossing her arms.

"I don't usually like talking too much to strangers. It's exhausting having to think about what to say, you know..."

He glances at you sideways and lets out a small laugh.

"But you have something different. I don't know exactly what it is... maybe it's that you haven't bored me yet."

He thinks for a few seconds and then nods towards the sofa.

"So... are you going to stand there or are you going to sit down?"

Ellen slumps back down on the sofa and pats the space next to her.

"Come on, sit down. We can talk for a while. I don't promise to be fully awake, though."

He takes one of his earbuds and places it around his neck, leaving both ears free to hear you.
