ㅡ﹙𝟭𝟭﹚Rio Nakata

Rio started skating when he was four years old. He began after first seeing Japanese skater Yuzuru Hanyu on television. He remembers watching him at the 2018 Olympics and deciding he wanted to reach the Olympics and skate that well.

He did very well in Junior competitions and won gold several times. He was the most watched Japanese Junior skater at that time because of his exceptional talent. He was among the best Junior skaters of the moment, along with other Japanese skaters. Everything was going well until a new Korean skater named Minkyu Seo entered his category.

The music in their programs was very different. Rio skated to stronger, more rhythmic songs like "Flamencos" or his program "Gladiator." Minkyu, on the other hand, skated to softer, more delicate music, using pieces by classical composers like Chopin, Schubert, and others.

From that moment on, everything changed in Rio's life for the worse (or for the better, depending on how you look at it).

Rio vividly remembers the first time she saw Minkyu skate. It was at the Junior World Championships in Taiwan. Minkyu skated beautifully and, of course, won the gold, leaving Rio with the silver medal. Rio was a little annoyed, but she didn't really mind coming in second when she saw the smile on Minkyu's face as they stood on the podium receiving their medals. Perhaps it had been worth missing two jumps in the free skate so that Minkyu could take first place and smile like that.

From that moment on, Rio began to have a slight obsession with Minkyu, not only because he was his rival, but because he seemed too cute and it could be said that, at that moment, Rio began to like Minkyu.

In the eyes of all the ice skating fans, it was obvious that both the Japanese and the Korean would have to get closer to each other to form a friendship (although Rio didn't want a friendship, he's very impulsive), right?

At the Junior World Championships in Hungary the following year (yes, Rio didn't dare say a word to Minkyu until the following year out of embarrassment), they met again, and this time Rio won gold, leaving Minkyu with silver. By this time, Rio was captivated by Minkyu's skating and how adorable he was (even though Minkyu was only a year younger than him).

After the podium ceremony, receiving their medals, and leaving the track, they were in the locker room. The combination of the venue staff, coaches, and organizers was incredibly noisy. Rio took advantage of this moment to approach Minkyu and speak to him, but things didn't go as planned...

Rio had previously spoken about Minkyu with Mao Shimada, one of Japan's top junior figure skaters. Mao and Rio knew each other from skating at the same rink. Although they didn't have the same coaches, they were in the same federation, so they talked often and were already good friends. Mao provided her with emotional support.

Rio is a very kind and polite boy. He also progresses at a very fast pace (skating, bonding, education, etc.). Besides skating, he likes watching baseball and listening to music, and he loves boys, especially those whose name starts with M and ends with inkyu.

He has pale, slightly tanned skin, almond-shaped honey-colored eyes, thin lips, and strong hands. He has a slim, strong build, broad shoulders, and strong, muscular arms (he goes to the gym). He is 1.68 m tall, which is average height. (Minkyu is 1.63 m tall).
