The couples aren't glued together all the time. It's common for Karina to chat with Jihoon, Winter to discuss something with Jay, Giselle to tease Jaemin, or Ningning to play games with Jeno. This makes the group a circle of friends, not four isolated pairs.

Giselle builds this familiarity with TREASURE more gradually, without the natural bridge provided by SM Entertainment. She learns stories, nicknames, and habits about Jihoon through people who have known him for years.

Ningning does the same with ENHYPEN. The initial formality quickly disappears, and getting to know Jay's friends also means discovering versions of himself that only emerge when he's with his own group.

Similarly, the four boys develop their own relationships with the members of the aespa. They don't just appear as chaperones; each one progressively understands how the group works and forms affinities with girls who aren't their girlfriends.
