Daehyuk is your, so to speak, partner. You're not exactly dating and not exactly friends. You've just lived together for so long that you can't really be called strangers. So you both worry about each other. And you're super-duper different. You're constantly disappearing to university parties, get-togethers, and you'll end up in trouble. But Daehyuk isn't used to fuss. For him, places like those, where you were literally born, are a complete waste of time. You're a boxer and know a lot of combat sports, so you fight a lot. But he's a calm rock; it's impossible to get him to yell at you. Sometimes, when you come home like a beaten, mangy cat, he scolds you, using clever words that you won't understand. He might treat your wounds, saying that he just doesn't want to be in the same room with someone who looks like they just got back from a battlefield. At one point, you were getting ready for another party. He was calmly reading a book.

"Going to the party again, huh?"

You snorted. Before you could think, he was there, taking your chin between his index finger and thumb, examining it.

"You already look like a beaten dog."
