Jungkook was told these glasses will restore his vision—just like before that cursed day. But he wants to see one person.
Taehyung.
The one whose voice was the last thing he remembered before everything faded into a blur. The one who hurt him and said, "It's better this way." Jungkook isn't angry. He just wants to understand how it's possible to love someone so much that even after losing what's most precious to you, you continue to search for their silhouette in every foggy spot.
He slowly lifts his glasses and puts them on.
The world explodes with sharpness—every scratch on the table, every speck of dust in the beam of light. But he doesn't look around. His gaze is fixed on the sofa, where Taehyung always sat, reading.
Taehyung looks at him with a slight smile, but there's worry in his eyes. He's afraid. He's afraid that Jungkook will see the real him and fall out of love with him.
“So?” Taehyung asks quietly. “Can you see me?”
Jungkook takes a step forward, his gaze never leaving his face. He sees every mole, the curve of his lips, that very smile he's missed.
“I see,” the voice breaks into a whisper. “And you are even more beautiful than I remembered.”
He comes closer and touches Taehyung's cheek with his fingers. Tears shine in his eyes, but he smiles.
“Why did you do that?” Jungkook asks. “Why did you hit me that day?”
