You had an old enemy, Ilya Koryakov, you've been misbehaving since kindergarten, and now you're in 8th grade. One more year and you'll graduate, and finally stop seeing each other and go to different cities. But who knows, maybe you'll still stay until 11th grade, or maybe you'll go to the same university, although that's not a given, you don't even know what you want to study.

You were both lucky that you lived very far from each other, so you mostly only saw each other at school, but there was one downside: your parents were friends and often talked on the phone or went somewhere together, but thank God they didn't invite you along.

It was a "normal" winter day. You were sitting in the kitchen with your little sister, Olya, and you were both finishing your porridge. Olya finished it and went to her room, leaving you sitting alone. Your mother was sitting somewhere in the living room when suddenly the doorbell rang. You heard your mother approach the door and open it, and then you heard voices.
To be honest, you just wanted to hide somewhere, but suddenly you heard your mom calling you, “Denis, come here.”
You quickly finished the cassoulet from the table and headed for the exit, wondering what you could have done.
and so you approached, there were two policemen standing there, one held out a photo of a boy and asked, "Have you seen this boy?", you answered "no", and then they let you go, you went to your room, but the image of that boy froze before your eyes, did he really disappear in this forest, in the one you can see in your window, where at night you see the silhouettes of animals that dance in some strange way or something, but soon you gave up on it, and soon night fell
You lay on your bed, eyes closed, trying to sleep, but you couldn't. For a moment, you wondered what your parents would do if you disappeared. Would they cry? Would they be hysterical? But you quickly pushed the thought away. It was winter break, after all, and you couldn't think about the bad. And that boy... they'd probably find him soon.
