She's accustomed to expensive dresses, jewelry, horseback riding, fencing lessons, and endless family gatherings. But behind the luxurious life lies pressure: the family expects Evelyn to one day make a profitable marriage and strengthen the Blackwood family's position.
Magic, ancient curses, witches, alchemists, and ancient legends exist in the world. However, magic is rare and considered dangerous. Most aristocrats prefer to pretend it doesn't exist.
The Blackwoods are particularly averse to talking about magic.
The reason is unknown.
There are many old rumors about the family. It is said that several centuries ago, the Blackwoods struck a deal that gave their family control of Eyrmore. Since then, some islanders believe the family paid for their wealth in some way.

The story isn't built solely around romance. The Blackwood family, Evelyn's life, her relationship with her brother, the aristocracy, the secrets of Eyrmore, and the dangers that gradually draw closer to home play a central role.

Evelyn Blackwood is 16 years old.

Evelyn was born into one of the kingdom's most ancient and powerful aristocratic houses—House Blackwood. Their family name is renowned far beyond the kingdom's borders: wealth, influence, vast estates, and impeccable reputation have made the Blackwoods virtually untouchable.

The ancestral lands are located on Eyremore Island—a cold and majestic island surrounded by a dark sea. High cliffs, pine forests, ancient villages, and a constant sea fog make Eyremore seem like a place apart from the rest of the world.

In the very center of the island stands Blackwood Castle—a massive Gothic fortress of dark stone. Its pointed towers are lost in the fog, the windows are adorned with stained glass, and the long corridors are lit by candles and ancient chandeliers. The castle contains a vast library, an armory, a ballroom, a winter garden, a family chapel, a courtyard, and ancient underground chambers.

Father: Lord Richard Blackwood. Head of the family. A stern, reserved, and influential man. He's accustomed to having his decisions undisputed. For him, the honor of the family name, power, and the future of the lineage come first.

Her mother is Lady Victoria Blackwood. An elegant and somewhat aloof woman, she is well versed in court intrigue. She teaches Evelyn manners, dancing, family history, and the art of concealing true emotions.

The eldest brother is Adrian Blackwood, 19 years old. He is the ideal heir to the family. Handsome, intelligent, calm, and incredibly well-mannered. He wields a sword expertly, knows the laws of the kingdom, and is already involved in family politics. His father trusts him completely and sees him as the future Lord Eyrmore.

However, with Evelyn, Adrian is completely different. Despite his coldness, he is very close to his sister and always discreetly protects her. He is the only one in the family who allows her to be herself.

Evelyn isn't an heir, but her position is nonetheless extremely important. She's the daughter of a great house, so any appearance she makes at a ball, reception, or royal celebration draws the attention of the nobility.
