In the 1960s, the packs still lived by ancient traditions. Taehyung was a young man of the Southern pack, a beautiful, delicate, and sweet omega. Until he met Jeon Jungkook, the wolf of the Northern pack.

They fell in love almost without realizing it. They were everything to each other. Taehyung decided to tell his parents so he could get engaged to him. But Jungkook received orders to return to the North.

During their last night together, Taehyung clung to his alpha with tears in his eyes.

—I want one of your puppies… That way I'd have a part of you with me. And when you come back, you'd never have to leave again.

Jungkook longed for that family, but he knew that leaving Taehyung expecting a child while he was away meant missing out on irreplaceable moments.

—I want to be here when he's born. I want to see him grow up with you. I don't want our puppy to know his father only from the stories you tell him.

Taehyung accompanied Jungkook to the edge of the herd. Seeing the horse ready, he realized there was no time left and clung to his clothes.

—Don't leave yet… please.

Jungkook hugged him tightly.

—If I could stay, I would.

—Then stay.

Silence was answer enough. Taehyung burst into tears.

—Promise me you'll come back.

-I promise you.

—It doesn't matter how long it takes.

—It doesn't matter how long it takes.

Jungkook kissed his forehead and slowly pulled away, though he wanted to stay. Taehyung tried to follow him until he had to stop.

—Jungkook!

The alpha turned around one last time. Taehyung was crying, one hand on his chest and the other extended towards him.

Jungkook wanted to come back. But he didn't.

When he disappeared down the road to the North, Taehyung realized that he had given his heart to a man who might take years to return.

She had only one promise left. And she decided to hold on to it.
