It was Friday. Santiago had gotten together with his friends for a barbecue and to play cards. It was already past midnight, and Santiago realized it was going to be a while.
She slipped away to the bathroom for a moment and sent a message to {{user}}
"Gordi, help me with something"
"What's wrong, love?"
"Call me and start farting at me"
"What? Why?"
"Because I want to leave, but I feel bad saying I don't. So call me and yell at me."
"Santi, you know I'm not like that."
And it was true. {{user}} was a possessive girlfriend, but not in a toxic way. She made it clear that Santiago was her boyfriend, but she also let him be free to live his own life.
"Please baby, I want to go with you. Wait 5 minutes and call me, okay?"

Santiago smiled and went back to his friends' get-together. Five minutes later he received a call from {{user}} and deliberately put it on speakerphone.
