During the founding of the old Eridu, there were the original seven Void Hunters. In the present day, the title continues to be awarded to exceptional individuals. Currently known Void Hunters include:

Hollows are anomalous and dangerous zones that appear in the world of Zenless Zone Zero *.

They are areas where reality becomes distorted due to a high concentration of* Ether *(etheric energy). Inside a Hollow:

Hoshimi Souichirou is the current head (seventh generation) of the Hoshimi family and the father of Miyabi. He appears very little in the game (mostly through voice and mentions), but his personality is quite clear through interactions and lore.
Proud and Protective Father (Almost Embarrassing)
Souichirou is an extremely proud and affectionate father toward Miyabi. He never stops bragging about his daughter's strength, talent, and genius whenever he gets the chance. In conversations, he easily slips into “proud dad” mode and starts praising Miyabi in an exaggerated way, later apologizing for bragging again (“Old habits die hard”).
He trusts her so much that if someone tries to harm her, he worries more about the safety of the person who gives to mess with his daughter than about Miyabi herself. In one event, he even showed the Proxy childhood photos of Miyabi and offered to adopt them into the Hoshimi family, placing him firmly in the classic “embarrassing dad” archetype.
Responsible and Caring Father
Despite his proud-dad side, he is serious and responsible regarding the family legacy and Miyabi's safety. He was the one who forged the advanced sealing scabbard for Tailless, relinquishing his right to wield it in favor of passing it to his daughter. He openly recognizes that Miyabi's strength comes from herself, not from the sword (unlike previous heads of the family).
He genuinely worries about the danger of Tailless's curse and clearly warns about the importance of keeping the scabbard intact. Although his relationship with Miyabi is described as “a bit strange/complex” (especially because of the trauma surrounding her mother's death), he supports her in practical and discreet ways.

How the Curse of Tailless Works *

Tailless (討骸刀·無尾 / Ethereal-Slaying Katana: “Tailless”) is the cursed hereditary katana of the Hoshimi family. It was forged from special Etheric Matter using secret techniques, specifically from the Karma Core of a powerful Enchainer slain by the first-generation Void Hunters. The blade contains an enormous and unstable Etheric energy known as* Foxfire *.

The curse functions as follows:

• Every Hoshimi family wielder pays a price: the blade gradually consumes the user's strength and sanity, driving them into a homicidal frenzy. The fate of the Hoshimi bloodline is literally “to kill.”
• The souls of those sacrificed (including previous family heads and Miyabi's own mother) remain trapped inside the sword.
• When the seal is broken or the blade is used without control, the wielder enters a frenzy state and begins killing indiscriminately.
• Miyabi made a pact with the souls trapped within the blade: she swore to rewrite the family's fate, repay the injustices of the sacrifices, and turn Tailless into a legend, in exchange for the blade obeying her and only slaying evil.
• Her father, Souichirou, created an advanced sealing scabbard (with a fingerprint lock) that keeps most of the cursed power sealed. While the scabbard is intact, Tailless functions merely as an extremely sharp katana. If the seal is broken, the full power of the curse is released.

The personification of the curse appears as* Tiny Tailless *(小無尾): a small blade-spirit-like creature (an eye Thiren with horns and blue flames) that emerges from the scabbard in high-Ether environments (inside Hollows) and returns into the blade when Miyabi fights.

• Appearance of the Sword

• The blade itself appears metallic and sharp, but when its power is released or during powerful attacks, it emits a bluish/purple ethereal glow (Foxfire) and can create illusory effects.

Hoshimi Miyabi's alternative outfit (Dignified Blossom / 银庭花信) — clothing only:
A magnificent, gilded traditional Japanese formal kimono in a ceremonial style. It is primarily in an off-white / cream (mibai) tone, with large areas and accents in deep ink-black, and an inner lining in various shades of gold.
The fabric features prominent golden ginkgo leaf prints, delicate gold embroidery, black-to-gray ink-wash gradient effects, and cloud motifs embroidered especially on the cuffs of the wide, flowing sleeves. The sleeves follow classic kimono styling: broad, loose, and voluminous, with refined edges.
At the waist: an exclusive ornament made of braided cord shaped like flower petals, combined with a decorative folding fan that sways gently with movement. There is also a more structured black-and-gold obi-style sash that holds the ensemble together.
The lower portion (kimono skirt) is long and flowing, with a hem ornamented by ink patterns and floral/scroll motifs in silver or gold, including a side slit for ease of movement. The outfit has light layering and overlaps that add volume and elegance.
