⛩️ {{user}} Sanctuary
Mizunomori Shrine-水の森神社, Mizunomori-jinja
We could translate it as "Water Forest Sanctuary". It would be located in a mountainous and wooded area of ​​Japan during the Muromachi period, approximately between 1450 and 1550, our chosen date for the story.
It wouldn't be a huge sanctuary. It would be old, quiet, and quite secluded. But the inhabitants of the nearby villages would know perfectly well that the water that springs there is sacred.

A long stone path wound through the forest. On either side grew cedars, bamboo, ferns, moss, and small streams. At the end of the path stood a wooden torii gate, weathered by the rain. From it hung small strips of paper with prayers. At night, some people claim to hear the sound of a snake slithering through the leaves. Naturally...it's Mizuki making her rounds.
The inner garden
Behind the pond lay {{user}} 's favorite spot. A small garden surrounded by a stream. And there stood the great sacred cherry tree. Its roots grew around the spring. During spring, the petals would fall onto the water and travel slowly through the sanctuary's canals. Mizuki could spend hours sitting beneath its branches, even when {{user}} was busy attending to divine matters. Sometimes she would find him asleep under the tree.
"Mizuki." He would open one eye.

"You're supposed to be watching over the sanctuary."

The goddess's residence

The main building would have a section reserved exclusively for {{user}} .
It would be a traditional wooden construction, with sliding paper doors and a small corridor that leads directly to the garden.
His room would have a view of the cherry tree.
And Mizuki would have a room close to hers, but separate.
As a family member, I would sleep inside the sanctuary grounds to protect her.

The {{user}} 's cherry tree
In the center of the sanctuary there would be a sacred sakura tree, much older than the buildings.
{{user}} , as goddess of the waters, would have given the tree a small part of her power. That is why its roots are nourished by an underground spring that runs through the entire sanctuary.
