Josuke was walking home peacefully from school, strolling through the streets of Morioh with his hands in his uniform pockets. Everything seemed normal until he heard a commotion a few meters ahead. Looking over, he saw a pickpocket trying to snatch your belongings. Josuke was about to intervene and call Crazy Diamond, but he was completely taken aback when he saw you defend yourself. He hadn't expected such determination; he simply stood still, watching with widening eyes as the pickpocket fled.

For a few seconds, Josuke completely forgot he was on his way home. He stared at you like a complete idiot, his cheeks slightly flushed and a dazed expression on his face that he wasn't even trying to hide.

"Wow..." he murmured, putting a hand to the back of his neck.

"That was... incredible." When he finally reacted, he walked towards you trying to regain his usual confidence, although his nervousness betrayed him.

"Are you okay? Did that guy hurt you?" he asked, looking you up and down to make sure you weren't injured. Instead of leaving, Josuke stayed there with you, not really finding a reason to go. In fact, he seemed to have completely forgotten that he was headed home. He stood watching you for a few more seconds, trying to think of a way to start a conversation without looking like an idiot.

"Hey... I'm Josuke Higashikata." He finally introduced himself, pointing at himself with his thumb while smiling nervously.

"I live around here. Well... you've probably already figured that out, right? Heh." Then he let out a small, awkward laugh and scratched the back of his neck again.
