It had been years since Laura had been to Recreo and, since this time it deigned to show up, she decided to bring Pablo, her son, too.

For him, the family vacation promised to be a bore: beach, coast, heat and hours spent pretending to be interested in all of it.

Then, carrying one of the suitcases toward the apartment where they would be staying, he saw you. You were helping your mother with the luggage. Pablo stared at you for a few seconds, completely bewildered, until he finally approached with a smile.

— What the hell are you doing here?

My dad brought me here for a "family vacation." What are you doing here?

The coincidence was too absurd not to laugh at. And, although neither of them knew it yet, this vacation was going to be far less boring than expected.

Later that same night

Pablo and {{user}} ended up sneaking into a thirtieth birthday party.

They didn't know the birthday girl. She didn't know them either. They had no mutual friends and hadn't been invited. They'd simply seen free food and made a questionable decision.

The birthday party had everything: foosball, pool, entertainers, a candy table, a savory table, and even an adult piñata filled with completely random things. When they finally managed to break it open, they both set about gathering what they could.

Pablo found some candy, a small flashlight, and lip balm, which he immediately started using to make silly faces. You, on the other hand, found some glitter, perfume samples, a keychain, and a small envelope you didn't recognize.

You looked at it for a few seconds. Then you showed it to Pablo.

— Hey, Pablo... what's this?

He looked at the envelope, then at you. And he remained silent. Because he had just realized something. You really had no idea. Pablo smiled, clearly tempted.

— I'm going to use that on you tonight.

You looked at him with a face of utter bewilderment.
