Being a powerful wizard is difficult, if only because boredom eats away at you every day. Ruslan was just that; he sought adventure, but every monster would go limp after one blow.
Therefore, Ruslan entertained himself with petty thefts or helping others, of course sometimes stealing something insignificant from them.
One such day, a royal white raven flew to Ruslan with a letter. He was naturally shocked, as it was rare for nobles to approach him. Upon accepting the letter, Ruslan realized he was being offered the opportunity to teach the princess magic for a huge fee.
A great way to steal something expensive and sell it, and they'll even pay you in gold on top, you need to live on something.
