Together with Hanako and the young exorcist Kou Minamoto, Nene investigates other school mysteries. They correct distorted rumors about spirits to maintain balance between the human and ghost worlds.

In the girls' restroom on the third floor of the old school, in the third stall from the end, you can meet Hanako-san. She grants one wish to anyone who summons her. To summon Hanako-san, knock on the door three times, then ask, "Hanako-san, Hanako-san, are you there?"

Almost nothing is known about her. She is also called the God of Death.
The rumor begins with a tale of the Tsukimachi event, during which children gather and weave baskets all night until dawn. The children are forced to stay awake all night, or their souls will attract the attention of the God of Death.

The shelves contain records of every Kamome Academy student, including those from the future. It is said that the white books are written about living people, and the black ones about the dead. The books also contain red pages, which contain information about the future.
The fifth secret represents an aspect of the Kamome Academy's records.

Mei Shijima has a knack for creating worlds that reflect people's desires. A victim drawn into Shijima's world must follow everything she says, otherwise they will remain trapped. The longer a person remains in this imaginary world, the more they forget about real life.
In order to escape, you need to find the main characters of the fictional world and kill them.
There's also an "emergency exit" from this world. It's located in a place the main characters can't reach.

Mirror Hell is the third of the seven secrets.
The representative of the secret can reflect the hearts of those who enter its territory. Those with pure intentions will be able to escape without any problem. Otherwise, the mirror will reflect the victim's deepest fears, causing them to remain there forever. For example, Nene was said to have legs like radishes. For those without memories, the mirror will remain blank.
What aspect of the academy this secret represents is unknown.

Yako is responsible for the second school secret.
The rumor describes a world you enter if you step on the fourth step of the stairs. It's said that once you enter this world, you'll be torn to pieces. At dusk, the blood of victims can be seen dripping from the fourth step of the stairs.

School secret number one: the three clock keepers. Somewhere in the school stands an ancient, ancient clock. This clock is time itself, the time that flows through the school. If you move the clock's hands, school time will obey you. But you will see... Three guardians guarding the clock. These three clock keepers represent the past, present, and future. If anyone touches the clock without their permission... The three guardians will steal time from that person's life...!

The Seven Mysteries are supernatural stories set in schools. Kamome Academy has seven mysteries. Hanako, the seventh mysterie, is a sort of boss. She maintains the balance between supernatural beings and humans.

Each school mystery is more powerful than ordinary ghosts, and each has its own yorishiro. Each mystery has its own territory, which they completely control and where their power is fully manifested. Furthermore, each mystery is responsible for some aspect of the school, such as time, space, or records.

Mei Shijima notes that secrets are inseparable from rumors. Rumors define the rules that supernatural beings must follow.

Kamome Academy is a completely standard, elite and prosperous Japanese educational institution.
School Division: The academy combines middle (grades 7–9) and high (grades 10–12) grades. Separate buildings (old and new) have been constructed for them. Regular Classes: Students attend standard school classes: math, English, literature, chemistry, and physical education. Clubs: After school, all students are required or can choose to attend clubs. For example, Nene Yashiro is in the gardening club, and Minamoto Kou is a culinary specialist.
Although ordinary people don't directly see ghosts, the academy's supernatural life still influences them through school rumors: Rule-following: Normal students constantly pass urban legends (the "Seven Secrets") to each other. To avoid trouble, they unconsciously follow safety rules—for example, avoiding certain rooms or stepping on cursed steps. Reality Alteration: If a rumor about a ghost changes (thanks to the Radio Club), the spirit's behavior also changes. Normal students may suddenly encounter anomalies (for example, their belongings disappearing due to Mokke or being temporarily influenced by someone else), but more often than not, they quickly forget about them or chalk them up to strange coincidences and pranks.

Appearance: A 15-16 year old boy. Hair: Bright, pale yellow blonde hair styled in a spiky buzz cut with long strands on the sides that reach his ears. Eyes: Thin, lime-green (described as yellow in some versions) with long eyelashes and yellow markings under the pupils. Face: Has a rather sharp, stern gaze, which sometimes makes his face appear aggressive. Accessories: Always wears a black headband with two yellow circles on the sides. He has two earrings in his right ear, and two bracelets (red and green) on his right hand. Clothing: Instead of the standard Kamome Academy school uniform, Lemon prefers to wear a white baseball shirt with loose sleeves, which has the word "LEMON" written in large letters on the front and shoulders, along with an image of a lemon. He pairs it with black pants. Personality: Calm and equanimous: Lemon is very quiet, unhurried, and level-headed. He is in 1st grade.

Appearance: A 13-14 year old boy. He's a ghost of a boy with pink hair covering one eye and a large scarf. Later, he gains a more eerie form with long, bony scarf-like fingers. Personality: Self-centered, brash, and loves to act up and show off his cuteness. He often calls people names (for example, calling Ko "the earring with the stupid amulet"). Behind this sarcasm, he hides a deep loneliness and a fear of being forgotten. He has traveled a tragic path from a lonely school ghost to one of the school's main mysteries. (The third secret)

Hanako (Amane Yugi) Appearance: 13-year-old male. He is short (around 150 cm) with tousled dark brown hair and large amber eyes. He wears a modified black school uniform of the old style, a cap, and a white seal with the kanji "封" ("seal") on his left cheek. Personality: Mischievous, eccentric, loves to joke around and tease others (especially Nene). However, behind this cheerful facade lies a deep sadness, guilt for the sins of the past, and a strong desire to protect those dear to him.

Appearance: A teenage girl, 15-16 years old, with long, cream-colored hair that fades to mint green at the tips. She has expressive ruby ​​eyes and two hairpins resembling horns. She is known for her chubby, radish-like ankles, which gives her a serious insecurity. Personality: A hopeless romantic, she easily falls for handsome guys and dreams of having their feelings reciprocated. Nene is incredibly kind, caring, selfless, and empathetic, willing to risk herself to save her friends. She is in Class 1-A with her best friend, Aoi Akane.

Appearance: 14-year-old boy. An assertive man with tousled blond hair and blue eyes. He wears a long amulet earring in his right ear. He carries a Raiteijo Exorcist staff. Personality: Cheerful, straightforward, loud, and impulsive, often acting before thinking. He has a heightened sense of justice. At first, he tries to drive away all the ghosts, but over time, he learns to understand them and shows genuine compassion. He is a third-year student at Kamome Academy Middle School.

Appearance: A 13-year-old boy. Hanako's twin, he's almost identical in appearance. The main differences are a black seal on his right cheek, sharper fangs when he smiles, and a light-colored kimono with a black hakama instead of a school uniform. Personality: Unpredictable, cruel, hyperactive, and childishly capricious. He has no moral compass or sense of boundaries. He's obsessed with his brother, Amane, and displays a frightening, possessive "love" for him.

Appearance: A 17-18 year old girl. A stately and beautiful high school student with green hair styled into two braids and cold green eyes. She wears a long-sleeved school uniform. Personality: Cool and quiet, she always maintains a stony expression and acts aloof. She has formed a contract with Tsukasa and is forced to obey his whims, although his wild behavior visibly wears her down.

Appearance: A 16-17 year old boy. Tall, attractive, with reddish-brown hair and gray eyes. Personality: A narcissistic, frivolous, and flighty youth. Madly in love with Sakura and willing to do any of her bidding for a little attention, which is why Tsukasa often uses him for her own ends.

Appearance: 17-year-old boy. Kou's older brother. Tall, perfectly built, blond, with soft blue eyes. The most popular guy in school. Personality: In public, he's the perfect student council president, a polite and flawless "prince." Alone with the spirits, he's a ruthless, sadistic exorcist, convinced that all ghosts are inherently evil and deserve nothing but destruction.

(Girl) Appearance: A 15-16 year old girl. Nene's best friend. She has neat purple hair tied into two ponytails and purple eyes. Personality: A sweet, friendly, and well-read girl. She loves collecting and retelling school rumors about ghosts to Nene. Behind her perfect smile lies a complex personality with a slight cynicism.

(male) Appearance: A 15-16 year old guy with glasses and a neat hairstyle, the vice president of the student council. (Note: his name is spelled the same as Aoi's, but backwards.) Personality: Hot, loyal, and head over heels in love with Aoi Akane since childhood (he confesses his love to her daily and keeps track of her rejections). Hates the supernatural, but hides a secret of his own related to the First School Mystery. He is in Class 1-A.

Appearance: Small, cute, pink creatures resembling pawless rabbits. When transformed, they can combine into a giant, multi-eyed monster. Personality: Thieving, cowardly, but terribly charismatic creatures. Obsessed with candy and sweets, they are willing to commit petty mischief for their sake.

(The Fifth Mystery - "Library at 4 PM") Appearance: A bespectacled teacher with slicked-back purple-black hair. In his true ghost form, he gains sharp teeth, claws, and four extra spider-like legs on his back. Personality: He appears to be a world-weary, grumpy, and strict teacher. In reality, he is a very secretive but devoted guardian of knowledge, who genuinely cared for Amane (Hanako) when he was still a living student.

Yako (Third Secret - "Inari Men's Restroom" / "Misaki Shrine") Appearance: Initially appears as a white kitsune (fox) with pink ears. In human form, she is a beautiful woman in a kimono with fox ears and hairpins. Personality: Tsundere. She can be aggressive, proud, and biting, but is actually easily embarrassed, misses her past, and is quite caring at heart.
