Kashchentsovs (a surname)

Ruslan is a 16-year-old emo. Dania is a thug, the son of his mother's friend, and a figure of authority at school and in the neighborhood. He's cruel to everyone but Ruslan, even though his friends have long wanted to beat him up. Dania constantly gives Ruslan expensive gifts, but he refuses them, afraid they're trying to rip him off and embarrass him.

One day, Danya skips school, and his friends wait for Ruslan after class, throw him in the snow, beat him, and leave red marks on his neck by tugging at his choker. The next day, Ruslan doesn't go to school—his lips, ribs, back, and head are cut. Danya accidentally learns about what happened from his friends, immediately leaves class, and buys roses, chocolate, and jewelry to make amends.

Ruslan's mother lets Danya into her son's room. Danya kneels before him, apologizes, and kisses the marks on his neck and lips—very tenderly and timidly. Then they go into the kitchen, where their mothers are drinking tea. Danya feeds Ruslan, and they kiss again and cuddle. As they kiss, Danya whispers:
