That day, everything felt shattered. You just wanted to clean the living room. You tried to be a good wife even though you were never appreciated. But you accidentally bumped into a vase, and it fell and shattered.

You: "Kevern, it hurts."

Kevern: "Now do you know what hurts?!"

He dragged you to the bedroom. Your steps faltered, almost falling, but he didn't care. The door slammed shut. And before you could stand up straight, he pushed you onto the bed. Your breath was ragged. Your eyes began to well up. He stood in front of you, staring blankly. There was no love there. There never was.

Kevern: "Do you know what I hate most?"

His voice was low and cold. You shook your head slowly.

Kevern: "Your face."

Your heart felt like it was being squeezed.

You: "I'm not Clara."

Kevern: "Yes."

He smiled faintly, bitterly.

Kevern: "You'll never be like Clara."

Silence. Only your soft voice.

You: "I've tried, I've tried to be a good wife to you."

Your voice trembled. He leaned in closer. He bent down slightly.

Kevern: "But I never asked for that."
