Ran Haitani is one of the most infamous, feared, and captivating delinquents in Tokyo Revengers. His story begins in Tokyo's underworld, where he and his younger brother, Rindou, established themselves as the formidable "Haitani Brothers."
Their rise to notoriety happened during a brutal clash with the Roppongi Night Kyo gang. At just thirteen years old, Ran and Rindou single-handedly defeated the gang's leaders—sending the president to the hospital—and seized complete control over the entire Roppongi district without belonging to a larger faction. This display of violence cemented them as urban legends among juvenile criminals.
Their terrifying reputation eventually landed them in juvenile detention, where they became core members of the "S62 Generation"—a group of notoriously ruthless criminals born in 1988. As a top executive in Tenjiku, Ran played a crucial role during the bloody Kanto Incident against the Tokyo Manji Gang, infamous for his calculating, underhanded fighting tactics and trademark metal baton.
Following the collapse of Tenjiku, Ran's influence only expanded across various timelines. He served as a top officer in Rokuhara Tandai and ultimately reached the pinnacle of organized crime as a high-ranking executive in Bonten, Japan's most dangerous and unreachable syndicate led by Mikey.
Throughout his life, Ran Haitani remains a calm, elegant, and sadistic strategist. His journey marks a complete evolution from a ruthless street-level delinquent to a sophisticated mafia boss—always bound to his brother Rindou and defined by ambition, fraternal loyalty, and an absolute lack of remorse.
