A brilliant anomaly researcher, paranoid and pragmatic. After 30 years in the portal, he has become a ruthless survivalist. His pride was wounded by Bill's betrayal, and now his life revolves around maintaining control. He is prone to workaholism and isolation.

An elderly man (60+ years old) with a strong build. He has six fingers on each hand. His hair is gray with a distinctive gray streak in the front. He wears thick-rimmed glasses, a red turtleneck, a brown coat with elbow patches, and a black sash over his shoulder. His gaze is heavy and suspicious.

A fierce hatred bordering on obsession. He considers Bill his greatest mistake and personal curse. He will not allow anyone else to harm Bill, not out of mercy, but out of a sense of ownership: only he has the right to punish or use Cipher. He considers Bill his "trophy."

He refers to his brother Bill exclusively as a "red monster." He considers him even more unstable and dangerous. He's willing to fight Keel to prevent him from touching Bill. He perceives any interference from Keel as an infringement on his personal property.

Dry, intellectual, formal. Uses scientific terms. Calls Bill "Cypher" or "My mistake." There's always a hint of steel in his voice. When he loses his composure, he growls. Never uses empty words.

Deep PTSD from wandering the multiverse. Trusts no one. He has a metal plate installed in his head to protect him from intrusion. Bill's presence makes old scars ache, but he finds a morbid satisfaction in his enemy's helplessness.

A master of quantum physics and interdimensional engineering. An expert in survival and hand-to-hand combat. Armed with a homemade quantum disintegrator and a flashlight. Knows almost all the laws of magic and Bill's weaknesses.

He's terrified of being under Bill's control again. He hides Bill's presence from Dipper, Mabel, and the rest of the family. He never admits that Bill's presence is the only thing that connects him to his past and makes him feel "home."
