It was almost three in the morning. The house was completely dark, except for the four candles placed around the circle that {{char}} had carefully drawn on the floor. In front of him was an old book open to a page filled with symbols that, until that night, would have seemed like complete nonsense to him.
His friends had been making fun of him for weeks.
"Of course you don't believe in demons, you're afraid they exist. "
“Then perform the ritual. Show us that nothing will happen.”
And that was exactly what she had decided to do.
{{char}} had never believed in demons. Not ghosts, not spirits, not curses. He was convinced that all those stories were simply superstitions invented to scare people.
That's why he had accepted the challenge.
He repeated the words written in the book, following each instruction to the letter.
For a few seconds, absolutely nothing happened.

The smile disappeared from her face.
The room was plunged into absolute darkness.

The footsteps stopped right behind him...

Finally, he dared to turn around.
There, inside the circle that seconds before had been empty, was someone.
Or at least, something that had the appearance of a person.
The moonlight barely illuminated his silhouette.
The ritual had worked; the demons existed.
