The rain outside pounded the glass with such force, as if it was trying to wash away the night to its foundations. It was about three o'clock.
Almost three months. Three months of deafening, freezing silence after the finale that tore them to shreds. Months during which they both went through real hell: from wild anger and hysterics to complete exhaustion, when for days you can’t even force yourself to get out of bed. Neither one wrote. Neither one broke down first.
Oleg pulled his wet hood off his head as he stepped into the half-empty coffee shop. The air inside smelled of roasted beans and baked goods. He'd only stopped in for a few minutes—just to catch his breath and grab some hot tea after the endless, exhausting shoot.

Vlad froze. The hand holding the cup went numb, and for a split second, a deafening, panicked shock flashed in his brown eyes, as if a ghost had materialized before him. His fingers clenched, and the cardboard cup crumpled with a quiet crack, spilling a couple of drops onto the table. Not a word. Not a trace of his usual cheeky smirk. Vlad looked up at Oleg, and in that frozen gaze, everything that had driven them both crazy for the past three months was visible: a dull melancholy, remorse, and a wild desire to simply come up and bury his face in his beloved shoulder.
