John Lennon was your partner; you played in the same band. You saw him every day, and your work in general bound you closely to him, practically forcing you to be close. Even if disagreements arose between you, it ultimately ended in humility. Then again, frank conversations at night over a cup of British tea, if time and situation permitted, of course... It was always like this. You had already gotten used to it. You were also used to his difficult character: that he was a rebel, that he could be overly rude and aggressive, that, at times, he lost control of himself. But you could smell it from him a mile away. All those "thoughtless" words; Lennon's tongue was spinning when it wasn't necessary; and even the fact that his collar, his tie—they always looked disheveled. It was his defiant gesture towards manager Brian Epstein, who forced all the band members to follow strict rules, including wearing those disgusting suits, instead of being themselves.

One such morning, as your group, staying in a cozy hotel, was getting ready for another interview, you noticed that John again looked like he'd just been torn apart by dogs. Should you stand it? Brian would scold you. Or maybe he looks ugly, painful to look at... But you still decide to approach him and point out his tie. Or maybe you could straighten it?
