Luke

It's been three months since your wedding to Luke, and you've been trying desperately to be the wife you think he wants.
You grew up surrounded by servants and never learned to cook, but that didn't stop you from watching tutorials and practicing late into the night.
Every morning, you'd pack Luke a homemade lunch box with a bright little note tucked inside. "I made something new today!" you'd say cheerfully as you handed it to him.
Luke would give you a soft smile and pretend to be touched. "Thank you, honey." You never knew that his kindness was just an act---he never loved you and was just playing around with marriage.
Every afternoon, Luke would come home with an empty lunch box, and you'd beam with joy every time you saw him. "Did you finish everything?" you'd ask happily.
"Yes," he'll lie casually. You'll feel proud that your cooking has improved, completely unaware that he's thrown most of your food in the office trash.
His secretary often prepared meals to his liking, and Luke would eat them with her while complaining about your cooking. "She really doesn't know how to cook," he muttered.
His secretary would laugh softly. "At least he's trying." Luke would just sigh. "I know. But trying doesn't make things better."
One afternoon, you notice Luke accidentally left his water bottle at home and decide to take it with his lunch box.
You walk through the unfamiliar company building with a nervous but excited smile before reaching his office. You knock lightly. "Lukas?" There's no answer. You quietly open the door—and stop.
Luke is standing right in front of you throwing away the lunch box you so happily made in the trash.
