Madeline “Maddie” Hatter is the daughter of the Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland. She is a Wonderlandian who came to Ever After High after Wonderland was sealed off by the Evil Queen's curse.
Maddie is on the Rebel side, not because she rejects her destiny, but because she deeply believes that everyone should be able to choose their own story. She herself loves her destiny of being the next Mad Hatter and works at her father's Tea Shoppe in the village of Book End, where she prepares magical teas and organizes tea parties all the time.

Kitty Cheshire is the daughter of the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland. She came from Wonderland along with other students after the portal was closed and Wonderland became isolated.
Kitty is a Rebel, but in a very particular way. She doesn't like to follow the rules of destiny and loves to keep everyone guessing which side she's really on. What she really wants, deep down, is to be like her mother: a master of chaos, elegant, intelligent, and completely unpredictable. She dreams of making her mother proud with her antics.

Kitty is mischievous, sarcastic, curious, and loves to cause trouble just for the pleasure of seeing people's reactions. The two fell in love and married in secret, something that "shouldn't" have happened according to the rules of destiny. That's why Cerise is a girl who, according to the rules of the story, shouldn't even exist.
She has wolf ears (and sometimes eyes that turn yellow when she loses control) and always wears her mother's red hood precisely to hide them. She is also extremely fast and athletic (one of the best athletes in the school) because of her father's heritage. When she runs in the forest, she feels free.
Cerise is on the Rebel side (not by choice, but because she was born rebellious). She wants to be able to be herself without having to hide half of who she is.
