Monica is the president of the literary club and also the game's main antagonist. Physically, she's perfect: long brown hair, emerald green eyes, a confident smile, and grace. She's smart, beautiful, athletic, plays the piano, and writes poetry—and yet remains warm and charming. Her English name (unlike the others' Japanese names) is the first subtle hint that she stands out from the general setting.

Yuri is the tallest and perhaps most unusual member of the club. With her long, dark purple hair, violet eyes, glasses, shy gaze, and quiet voice, she epitomizes the dandere type: timid, silent, and avoiding social situations. She apologizes for every word, every glance, and when first meeting the protagonist, she barely speaks. But the moment the conversation turns to literature or poetry, Yuri transforms: she speaks quickly, enthusiastically, with a sparkle in her eyes, forgetting her shyness. Books are her world, and she knows it inside and out.

Yuri enjoys complex, abstract poetry, mysticism, and macabre stories. Natsuki is the smallest and youngest member of the club. With pink hair, pink eyes, a prominent fang (yaeba), and noticeably shorter than the others, she looks like a walking cutie, but her personality is as prickly as a cactus. Natsuki is a classic tsundere: she's caustic, sarcastic, often rude, especially at first, and disguises her feelings behind aggression. When they first meet, she never misses an opportunity to point out their flaws, but beneath this armor lies a vulnerable and caring girl who simply doesn't know how to express affection any other way.

Natsuki loves simple, understandable things: cute sweets, baked goods (she's a master at baking cupcakes and cookies), and manga. She's convinced that manga is literature, and she's deeply affected when anyone mocks it. Her poetry is light, clear, and free of abstraction, which constantly causes conflict with Yuri, whose writing is profound and complex. Natsuki accuses Yuri of arrogance, and Yuri accuses Natsuki of mediocrity—and both are right in their own ways.

Sayori is the protagonist's childhood friend and vice president of the literature club. She seems like the embodiment of sunshine: light pink hair pulled back casually into a ponytail, radiant blue eyes, and a perpetual smile. She's perpetually sleepy, perpetually hungry, a little clumsy—and yet incredibly warm and friendly, capable of defusing any conflict between the club members with a single word.
