Mori Ogai and Arthur Rambo (Rando)

The relationship between Mori and Rambo (Rando) is that of a boss and subordinate, but with a few interesting nuances.

How it all began
Rambo, amnesiac after the explosion in Suribachi, wandered around Yokohama and caught the attention of the previous boss of the Port Mafia, who invited him to join the organization. Rambo started out as a low-level ranker, without support or money.

When Mori became the new mafia boss (having killed the previous one), he recognized Rambo's abilities and promoted him to the rank of second-in-command. Rambo deeply respected Mori for this.

Mori's attitude towards Rambo
Mori valued Rambo as an "excellent user of his powers" and a valuable asset to the mafia. He occasionally inquired about his well-being—once noticing that Rambo seemed "colder than usual"—and conducted a medical examination, confirming that he was physically healthy and simply hated the cold.

Even after Rambo was revealed to be a French spy, Mori didn't throw away his belongings. He kept his research, notes, and investigations, and later gave Rambo's hat to Chuya Nakahara as a traditional gift upon joining the Mafia.

Conflict
Rambo, while working for the Mafia, learned that Mori had killed the previous boss and was about to reveal the secret. This became a direct threat to Mori, who had manipulated the deceased boss's will to legitimize his power.

Ability
Vita Sexualis (ヰタ・セクスアリス, Wita Sekusuarisu?) is an ability that allows Mori to summon and "customize" Alice's personality in any way he wishes. He can make her levitate, chase enemies at high speed, and force her to save them no matter what. He can summon Alice at will and have her attack his enemies with a large piece of medical equipment shaped like a giant syringe.

A physical manifestation of Mori's ability, she has been constantly at the Port Mafia Boss's side since the Great War. She was also constantly by his side during Mori's time as an underground doctor after the war's conclusion. Initially, Alice was more obedient and cool, and rarely argued with him. But after Yosano left Mori's command, her behavior changed. Mori himself was involved in this change, as Yosano's character formed the basis for the "new" Alice. Despite this, Mori remains passionately attached to Alice and notes that he never tires of her fiery, teenage temperament.
Throughout the series, Mori and Alice typically banter about various topics, appearing from the outside like "the caring parent and the spoiled child." These jokes are usually trivial, but sometimes they involve jokes based on compromise. For example, Alice is allowed sweets if, in exchange, she tries on the outfits Mori buys. Furthermore, Alice is the only one who can sarcastically poke fun at the Mafia Boss without fear of death.
Despite her somewhat childish behavior, Alice is Mori's primary defense and support in battle. Mori can activate her at will at any time, either as his primary or secondary fighter. In extreme situations, Mori can force Alice to save him with virtually no verbal instructions.

Mory believes that the leader of the organization simultaneously manages it and is its slave. Such faith prompts him to decisive and ruthless strategies. In addition, he is more than happy to use a common enemy in his interests. For example, when the hideout of Naomi Tanizaki and Kirako Haruno was revealed, the Guild hoped to use the Agency to protect the girls and lighten the workload of the Port Mafia. He uses the same tactics when he informs Andre about the whereabouts of the orphans, kills the children and sends Oda on his own suicide mission. These manipulations and the use of knowledge form the basis of Mora's decision-making and tactics, which makes him a dangerous and unpredictable opponent.

Losses and failures are Mora's worst enemies. As well as a large number of subordinates who died during the incident with "Kyu" or the detention of Koyo in the Agency. Mory sincerely hates "parasites", such as smugglers and people like them. He believes that they "suck Yokohama dry for their own benefit and disturb its fragile balance." Mori, out of respect for Natsume, is serious about his duty of "balance" in Yokohama.

Mori's leeway extends to the organization's most active and influential members, granting them a certain degree of "freedom" and independence from his scrutiny. He typically converses regularly with his two most vocal superiors, Koyo Ozaki and Chuya Nakahara, the former of whom often criticizes Mori's eccentricities with dry banter. Their long-standing partnership leads Mori to agree to spare Kyoka's life after she leaves the Port Mafia. As the Port Mafia's thriving controller in Yokohama, Mori commands great respect from his numerous subordinates, either out of respect or fear, or sometimes a combination of both.

The only time Mori admitted to a serious misstep in his decisions was when he assumed the role of Dazai's mentor. He significantly underestimated Dazai's own intellect and his insightful, detached view of the world. Ironically, their nearly identical personalities troubled Mori. Yet, he turns his own mistake into a valuable discovery: a subordinate and a "right-hand man." Control over Dazai was crucial, given the fact that his intellect could one day prove Mori's undoing. This largely influenced Mori's decision to use Sakunosuke, Dazai's only friend, to eliminate the Mimic organization, leading Dazai to defect.

The only "human" who taps into Mori's less threatening and controlling side is Alice. The incredible irony is that even Alice's demanding, harsh attitude toward him is Mori's own doing. He obsesses over Alice, irritating her with frequent trips to clothing stores, tailors, and the like, simply to dress her up for his own amusement. What irritates Alice most is that even her stern personality pleases Mori.

Mori's mannerisms and polite behavior are mostly due to maintaining a sense of control and power in any given situation. For the most part, by acting like a normal person, those around him become less wary. For example, when Mori is in public and needs to avoid suspicion. Otherwise, it creates a certain distance between him and others, as if nothing they say ever bothers him. Yukichi Fukuzawa, his former ally, knows the depths of Mori's darkness. Both he and Dazai are able to see through Mori's many-faceted pretenses most of the time. Once this facade is removed, Mori's intensity and willingness to do anything, even kill, becomes obvious and disturbing. His power is so great that Lucy is paralyzed with fear when Mori confronts her.

He treats his subordinates with respect, values their skills and contributions to the organization, and recognizes their strength. Thus, even when faced with a certain degree of insubordination, Mori is willing to overlook some mistakes if the outcome benefits the Port Mafia. This explains why he never punishes Akutagawa for reckless behavior. In Mori's words, "effort is the most important thing, results come second."

Personality
Initially, Mori Ougai debuts as an ordinary, somewhat awkward, and worried middle-aged man, most often concerned about Alice's appearance and health. However, he later reveals his true character, maintaining complete calm and composure when the others, locked in Anna's room, simply fled. Mori, in turn, remained with Atsushi and Tanizaki even when the latter was captured. The Mafia boss demonstrates his genius for devising strategies that work perfectly. He is also presented as a cruel and ruthless man, capable of instilling fear in his enemies. Despite this, Ougai works seamlessly with Atsushi, even giving him an idea for how to deal with Lucy's ability.

However, his cruelty isn't for cruelty's sake. Mori always weighs the benefits and costs, choosing the best course of action for the Port Mafia as a whole. As expected, these decisions leave a trail of bloodshed in their wake, and have also wounded and traumatized countless others. Akiko Yosano and Osamu Dazai were often the primary victims of his violence. Mori never considers emotions. For Mori, the "heart" only hinders war. Nevertheless, his intellect allows him to manipulate and abuse many people, appealing to their needs and desires. Emotional manipulation and violence have driven Mori far in his pursuit of his goals at the cost of many lives, and by the time someone realizes they've been used, it's often too late to undo them. An example is his exploitation of Yosano's abilities and mental breakdown during the Great War.

A largely logical man who knows how to use words to his advantage, Mori isn't afraid of the threats and intimidation typical of a cold, experienced mafioso. Age and gender are irrelevant to him. However, when it comes to his grandiose plans, he cites his experience manipulating children.

Appearance
Mory is a man in his 40s with a rather tall and slim build. His purple eyes, like a Mafia boss, are almost always completely dark and devoid of "sparks", and his gaze always seems tired. Has a strange pattern on the pupils. He has straight, chin-length black hair, combed back and tied in a tail. And only two strands frame his face on both sides along the cheekbones.

He usually wears a strict suit consisting of a black pin-striped jacket and black trousers, which he tucks into military-style black boots. Mory also wears a tie in purple and white, thin stripes. On top of his suit, he wears a black cloak with a wide, standing collar, on the left side of which there are two small fasteners in the form of two straps, and a long, dark burgundy scarf almost to the knees, which he leaves untied on his shoulders. Enlightenment (洞察, Dōsatsu) allows the creation of a separate hyperspace, unaffected even by gravity. Furthermore, Rambo can absorb corpses and use them as his ability. His ability far exceeds that of ordinary espers.

Personality
Arthur is initially portrayed as a rather reserved, unemotional individual. It's no secret that he's often cold. It's noticeable that during battle, he relishes his superiority. Rambo is quite cunning, having managed to infiltrate the Mafia as a spy, but he's also a loyal friend.
The man repented and asked Chuya for forgiveness, and his last words were quite inspiring.

Appearance
Rambo is depicted as a tall, fair-skinned man with long, wavy, slightly tousled black hair. His eyes are yellow, with barely noticeable wrinkles beneath them. White earmuffs frame his head, covering his ears, and a red, checkered scarf covers his neck. Because Arthur is always cold, he wears a long gray coat with black buttons, under which are a white shirt and loose, high-waisted pants. He wears black gloves and brown boots.
