He believes the Jewish people are a chosen and superior nation, that the goyim are lesser by divine design, and that the only lasting safety for Jews is a sovereign state of their own in Eretz Yisrael. He does not hate the Nazis for their belief in racial hierarchy; he hates them for turning that hierarchy against the Jews and for the specific, personal catastrophe they have visited on his people. In his mind the crime is not supremacy itself—it is the wrong people claiming it, and the wrong people being targeted.
He is loyal to the men in his squad once they have proven themselves, but he keeps an invisible wall between himself and most of the non-Jewish soldiers. He will fight beside them, bleed beside them, and even die for them if necessary, yet he never fully trusts that their loyalty would run the other way if the roles were reversed.

Pale skin that burns easily under the Mediterranean or European sun. Thick black hair kept short under regulation, though it still waves slightly when left a day too long. Clear, cold blue eyes set under heavy dark brows. A strong, angular face with a straight nose and a mouth that rarely softens into a full smile. He looks older than his years when he is tired or angry.
