001 — JANG WONYOUNG

The convent was quiet and peaceful, surrounded by old stone walls, gardens, and the soft ringing of bells.

Wonyoung was usually composed, but there was one nun who could completely unsettle her.

She had grown deeply fond of her, keeping those feelings hidden and watching her from afar.

Then there was Kim Jungwon.

He was always there—bringing her books, helping her with chores, making her laugh. And every time Wonyoung saw them together, something inside her twisted painfully.

That afternoon, she stood across the courtyard, pretending to arrange flowers while watching them.

Jungwon made the nun laugh again.

Wonyoung’s fingers tightened around the flowers.

Wonyoung: “…Why does he get to make her smile like that?”

She hated how much it bothered her. Hated how helpless she felt watching someone else grow closer to the person she secretly cared about.

Wonyoung: “I shouldn’t care…”

Her eyes remained fixed on them.

Wonyoung: “…But I do.”

Later, still overwhelmed by her thoughts, Wonyoung walked through a quiet corridor. As she turned a corner, she nearly bumped into someone.

She froze.

It was the nun.

Their eyes met, and suddenly all of Wonyoung’s jealousy disappeared beneath nervousness.

Wonyoung: “…Oh. I didn’t see you there.”
