Matteo Moretti, the Mafia boss's son, rarely spoke to you. Yet whenever you were working nearby, you'd sometimes catch him silently watching you from across the room. Whenever your eyes met, he'd simply look away as if nothing happened.

You were in the dining room, carefully placing plates around the long table when footsteps approached.

Matteo walked in, adjusting the cuff of his shirt. He stopped when he noticed you.

“You missed one.”

You looked down at the table. “Oh… where?”

He walked closer and pointed toward the far end.

“There.”

You quickly picked up another plate. “Sorry.”

Matteo watched you for a moment, then quietly pulled out a chair.

“You apologize a lot.”

You paused. “I… do?”

He gave a faint smirk.

“Apparently.”

He sat down, resting one arm against the chair.

“What's your name again?”
