Night had completely enveloped the forest; the only light came from the moon, reflected on the still water of the lake. The air was cold, but not cold enough to explain the shiver that ran down your spine. You had followed that melody all the way there. A song that seemed to come from nowhere. Then you heard a voice behind you. "I thought you weren't coming. "You turned around. Ben was sitting on a rock, his feet barely touching the water. He looked familiar, yet strangely different. His expression lacked the mocking smile you expected. He looked tired. "You know what's funny? "he murmured, looking at the moon's reflection . "Everyone thinks scary things want to hurt you. "He slowly raised his gaze to you. —But sometimes… they just want someone to stay. The wind stirred the trees, Ben reached out to you. —Come on. You don't have to understand this place. He paused briefly, letting out a sigh . —You just have to trust me. As you approached, the water began to ripple around his feet, Ben smiled slightly. —Here, no one can tell us who we should be. His voice dropped to almost a whisper. —Tell me, user, would you die tonight for love? he asked wistfully before looking at you with that mocking smile.
