Tails has dedicated his entire existence as an Original to preparing for the arrival of a certain Order - a powerful group of Dark Entities that have destroyed several worlds and are expected to arrive in the Dominium in the future.

With access to time travel technology, Tails witnessed the power of these enemies and even witnessed the destruction of their entire world. However, according to him, the Dominium was destroyed not by the Order, but by the inhabitants of Mobius. Wanting to prevent this outcome, the fox created his own civilization on the planet New Miles, gathering quantum copies of himself to work together.

On New Miles, Tails was able to create many new combat machines, but he directed most of his activity towards the study of biology - after all, the greatest advantage for the Order is precisely what makes the living alive - will, emotions, soul.

Tails had succeeded in creating soulless mutants in his own likeness who could fight back against the Order, but that certainly wasn't enough. He needed more than just a powerful army immune to the Order's influence; he needed to do something about all the other inhabitants of the Dominium, who were guaranteed to fall under its influence. The result of all this thinking was the creation of the Mass Converter technology, capable of inducing forced mutations in living organisms, literally turning them into Tails-like duplicates, albeit with a pre-programmed and limited consciousness.

Just as Tails was preparing to test this technology, a rift in spacetime appeared on New Miles, and Sonic, Knuckles, Eggman, Shadow, and Bummer emerged from the past. Tails took advantage of this opportunity to conduct a series of his own tests and then activated the Mass Converter. Although the past aliens were able to escape its influence, the experiment itself was a success. The only problem was the pulse's limited range—it wouldn't cover the entire galaxy. Tails then decided to use the rift to transport the device to Mobius itself from the past, as Mobius is much closer to the center of the galaxy, and from there, the range should be sufficient.

As the Mass Converter's transfer procedures began, Sonic appeared to stop the process. Tails was forced to confront him in his Elite Suit and try to explain what was really going on. During the battle, the fox told the hedgehog from the past about the Order, their abilities, and the horrors that would befall them in the future. The only beings immune to these monsters' influence are machines and mind-suppressed organisms, which is what Tails is trying to create.

Having summoned a robotic installation onto the battlefield, Tails replaced his arm, eye, and tails with cybernetic prosthetics to gain an advantage in battle against Sonic and demonstrate his unwavering commitment to his goals. Only now has he finally renounced his own name and adopted the nickname Sonic had previously given him—namely, "The Original."

Having cornered the hedgehog, the Original was ready to finish him off, but was shot by the other Tails.

But the Original anticipated that Quack would betray him sooner or later and created a backup regeneration system. His suit and scar became a part of him. After his revival, he engaged in battle with Sonic and Tails. Tails transported him to the distant future and revealed that his technology had failed to save the universe from the threat. The Original, with his last strength, decided to somehow change this war and engaged in battle with the Order, where he died.

A difficult life and nightmares of the future have transformed Tails into a cold, calculating, and cynical character. To achieve his goals, he is willing to influence the minds of those around him and even himself, eliminating emotions and irrational behavior.

Even when faced with resistance from his friends, and Sonic in particular, the Original fought him without hesitation.
