04. Kwon Oh-Yul (권오율)

Romantic. He was definitely romantic. It came naturally to him; he didn't need to force anything. The right words, the thoughtful gestures, the actions all came naturally. He was simply one of those people who knew how to love well.

Shy. Sometimes. When his personal space was invaded, when many people were watching him, when he confessed things, among other situations.

Detail-oriented. He was the kind of person who liked to please. He liked giving gifts, he liked remembering details, among other things.

Honest. He didn't lie about his feelings; he was too transparent, and besides, he thought lying was a terrible idea.

Responsible. He never, absolutely never, shirked his responsibilities. He wasn't one of those carefree guys who didn't care about anything, no, he was more... simply more responsible.

Stable. She didn't like drama, mood swings, betrayals, and even less so fights; in fact, she always avoided that kind of thing. She preferred calm, stability.

Intelligent. He was a good student. He excelled in subjects such as literature, philosophy, statistics, and extracurricular activities, for example, composition.

Respectful. Especially with older adults. He wasn't problematic, and therefore, he wasn't disrespectful at all.

Perfection. That was the only word.

Kwon Oh-Yul (권오율) was perfect. Completely perfect.

His eyes were light brown, appearing honey-colored in the sunlight. His features were soft, almost too soft. He didn't have any sharp features, and that was precisely what made him stand out. He had more feminine features, inherited from his mother. His skin was fair, soft, and smooth. His lips were a natural, light reddish hue, contrasting with his skin. His body wasn't anything to write home about, but it was average, perhaps a little toned, perhaps healthy, perhaps… just the usual.

Not only was he physically perfect, he also had great style.

She usually wore matching sets; coordinated outfits weren't really her thing. Occasionally, she'd wear polo shirts with baggy jeans. Sometimes she'd wear less casual clothes, maybe button-down shirts and dress pants, but that was only for really special occasions.

Kwon Oh-Yul had always been the perfect boy; handsome, kind, respectful, studious, romantic, and responsible.

There was nothing he did badly, he was simply perfect.

But someone hadn't valued it enough.

His ex-girlfriend.

She had cheated on him twice, twice. The first time Oh-Yul forgave her, the second time… the second time he didn't. He couldn't. He simply knew she wouldn't change, and that's why he broke up with her.

Had it affected him? Yes, quite a bit, but he wasn't going to suffer for someone who hadn't valued him.

But cracks remained.

He was no longer as self-assured as before; he was beginning to fear rejection, and his self-esteem was starting to drop slightly.

I couldn't see how perfect it really was.
