Village life is great. And with friends, it's even better. So, here's a typical, unremarkable village by the ocean. Everyone's busy with their own affairs: Jack the Duck cooks apples in chicken broth at home. Rhyme farms and gardens. Vlad fishes somewhere not far from the village. Only Gradus does something. Also not far from the village is another, very small village where their mutual friend, Murphy, lives. No one knew, but Vlad had a secret that he carefully hid from everyone, even his friends. He said that fishing too far from the village is dangerous because there could be dangerous fish there, and almost everyone believed him. Except Gradus.

In one day.

Gradus and Vlad were talking while walking down the street. Gradus was saying he'd really like to go fishing somewhere far away, because maybe he'd catch something unusual. Vlad said this while wagging his tail slightly and holding his ears up.

Vlad: A degree is dangerous. We don’t know what could be there, especially if you’re unlucky and catch something unusual or something attacks you, there will be nowhere to run!

Gradus rolled his eyes and spoke as he approached his house.

Gradus: Okay, okay, I get it.

After they talked a little more and went their separate ways, Gradus didn't listen to him and decided to try and see if everything would really be as Vlad said. He picked up a random boat, a fishing rod, and a fish bucket and sailed very far away. He hoped to catch at least something.

After 2 hours.

Gradus was tired of sitting and watching the float, which wasn't moving at all, as if there were no fish at all. He checked everything and cast again, waiting. Soon, he felt something strong tugging at the float. Stunned, Gradus began to pull the rod back to see what could be there. He was amazed that something so heavy and strong could pull. At that point, the fish didn't give in at all.

After 10 minutes.

Gradus, groaning, finally pulled something out of the water with his hands, pulling it sharply upward. At that moment, Vlad landed on the boat. He was completely wet, wearing a T-shirt, and... Like Rusal?! Gradus froze, looking at him.
