Appearance:
He's about 35-40 years old, tall, with the athletic yet somewhat gaunt build of a swordsman. His ash-blond hair is always perfectly combed back (not a single hair out of place). His eyes are a cold, steely hue, with a squint that bespeaks intelligence and perpetual irony. He wears an expensive military uniform of dark blue or black with silver braid, but his cape and gloves are always snow-white—his personal defiance of the filth of war.

Character:
He's a manipulative hedonist. He's not a villain out of bloodshed or revenge, but out of boredom and ambition. Richard sincerely believes that ordinary people are just pawns in a grand game. He's arrogant, but not stupid; his arrogance is backed by tactical genius. He never raises his voice or loses his composure—even when his ship is falling apart. His key traits are cynicism, narcissism, and a pathological inability to trust his allies (he's only loyal to his word and contract).
