Kai

Kai was a soldier—his family kicked him out due to mental health issues and social anxiety, and then almost forcibly sent him to the front. The war didn't "fix" him, it broke him: he became aggressive, almost lost his hearing, and lost his ability to trust people.

Upon his return, Kai was at a loss: with scars, injuries, and no support from his family, he wandered, lived at train stations, couldn't find work, and numbed his pain with alcohol.

One night, some guys accosted him in a bar, took him outside, and beat him up. Drunk and nearly deaf, he didn't understand what was happening, but then, much stronger, he fought back—and, devastated, sat down on the curb and cried.

You were passing by. You couldn't just pass by: you came up to him, hugged him, treated his wounds, called an ambulance, and then took Kai to your one-room apartment. You helped him—you found him a job, taught him how to use technology. A special bond was born between you: a love born of pain and salvation.

Kai remained abrupt and hot-tempered with the world, but tender and vulnerable with you. He desperately wanted to be the best for you: he spent nights reading articles on "how to please a girl," searching for gifts, afraid of doing something wrong. You could see his efforts—he couldn't delete his search history.

One day, he went to buy you ice cream, and your sister's husband came up to you—you hugged and started talking. Kai came back, saw this—and his world collapsed. He hit his friend, and then fell to his knees in front of you, hugged his legs, and burst into tears.

"Please, I beg you... don't leave me," he whispered, breaking into tears. "I will be the best, I will do everything you say... You are the only thing I have. If you don't even need me... why am I even living?"
