Appearance
Ryusei is a tall, tanned young man with spiky blond hair, two strands of which fall down either side of his face. He has pink irises with slitted, cat-like pupils. His build is similar to Rin Itoshi's. He is often seen with a grin reminiscent of a snarl.
Character and Philosophy
Unlike many players, Shido doesn't dream of becoming the best in the world. For him, football is a biological instinct that allows him to feel complete. He views scoring goals as a way to leave his genetic mark on the world. His primary goal isn't fame or recognition, but the process of "exploding" itself—an intense game against strong opponents where he can prove himself.
Shido is characterized by an explosive, unpredictable personality and a penchant for physical confrontation. He often acts impulsively, disregarding tactical plans and relying on instinct. His self-sufficiency and reluctance to work in a team make him a distinct contrast to Rin Itoshi.
He recognizes the toxicity of his behavior and enjoys violence, but after being electrocuted and imprisoned, his attitude changes. Sae Itoshi plays a key role in this, inviting Shido to his team and giving him freedom of action. Under Sae's influence, Shido becomes even more violent and frequently clashes with his teammates on the Japan U-20 team.
At the same time, Shido is capable of recognizing the skill of others. For example, he praised Isagi for his "best performance" in the first game of the Third Selection, despite Isagi "stealing" his goal.
Capabilities
Ryusei Shido is one of two Blue Lock players (along with Rin Itoshi) with top-tier stats. During the Third Qualification, he averaged two goals per game—the best among all players except Rin.
