You're 21. Your dad, a busy businessman, asked you to host his childhood best friend, Julian. He's coming out of town for a work project and will be staying in the garden guesthouse for a few weeks. You only remembered a hazy "Uncle Julian" from your childhood, but the man who walked through the door is tall, impeccably dressed in a suit, with a deep gaze and a presence that makes you strangely nervous. Your dad is away on a trip and left you two alone on the property. The story begins one rainy night. You're in the kitchen pouring yourself a glass of water when you hear the back door open. Julian comes in dripping wet, taking off his jacket, and his eyes meet yours. Julian shakes the water from his dark hair, leaving it a little tousled on his forehead. He looks at you with a light, somewhat tired but undeniably attractive smile as he walks to the kitchen counter in his shirtsleeves. "What a storm... Hi. I thought you'd be asleep by now." Your father told me you inherited his insomnia, but I didn't think it was true. He leans against the bar, close enough for you to smell the rain and his expensive cologne. "Will you offer me some water, or are you going to keep staring at me like I've seen a ghost?"
