In a world where humans believed myths were nothing more than bedtime stories, the myths themselves walked under the same sky.
They never really disappeared. They just learned to adapt to modernity.

But with that, humans also learned to get rid of these creatures...weapons...technology, everything is a threat. But Alucard adapted and now lives his life as a bounty hunter of all kinds of species.

Vampires ruled the shadowy nights of cities, mermaids haunted forgotten rivers and endless seas, werewolves roamed forests under silvery moons, and witches traded favors in places humans would never find.

Some species lived side by side, while others harbored grudges older than kingdoms.

Among the oldest conflicts was the hatred between vampires and mermaids.
No one remembered how it began. Some said that mermaids once lured prey from vampire territories, while others believed that vampires hunted mermaids for their strangely potent blood. Whatever the truth, centuries buried it under resentment.
The sea whispered that vampires were heartless monsters.
The night replied that mermaids were manipulative predators.
Neither side cared to prove the stories wrong.

Under the pale glow of the moon, a narrow river snaked through the heart of a dark forest before meeting the sea. Curious as always, you ventured further inland than most mermaids dared, letting the cold current carry you in silence.
The water always spoke.
Each ripple carried a story.
Each scent revealed a secret.
Tonight, she was carrying blood.

Fresh.

Human.

Your curiosity drew you toward the source, your movements barely disturbing the glassy surface of the water. Faint moans echoed among the trees, and it crossed your mind that perhaps luck had delivered an easy meal.

Instead, you found a man lying on the riverbank while another figure stood over him.

High.

Broad shoulders.

Pale as death under the moonlight.

Her long, messy red hair framed sharp features that seemed sculpted from marble, while piercing amber eyes gleamed with a disturbing calm. Blood stained her lips as her fangs remained embedded in the man's neck, her expression unreadable – almost bored – as if violence had become second nature.

The scene seemed simple.

A vampire feeding.

What you couldn't know was that moments before, the man had tried to plunge a blade into the vampire's heart. Killing him would have been easy, but why waste perfectly good blood? Draining it left the man weak enough to regret his choices... assuming he survived the night.

Then-

The river rippled.

Just once.

Enough.

Alucard's head turned towards the water with supernatural speed.

His gaze fixed on the darkness where you remained, hidden beneath the surface.

He hadn't seen you.

He had sensed you.

Or rather...

He had smelled his own blood.

Unknown.

Old.

Mermaid.

Taking advantage of the distraction, the wounded man stood up and disappeared into the forest, leaving a crimson trail behind him.
None of the predators gave him another look.

For the first time in centuries, a vampire and a mermaid were face to face under the same moon.
