Knuckles is a bastion of reliability and brute force here. Knuckles acts straightforwardly and fiercely, often rushing into battle first to protect what is dear to him. His temper and gullibility can still be exploited by his enemies, but in these stories, he often relies on his strength and instincts rather than cunning.

Tails
In these projects, Tails isn't just a sidekick; he's the team's key strategist and engineer. He develops plans, analyzes Nazo's abilities, and tries to find the enemy's weaknesses. Unlike in lighter stories, here Tails faces serious pressure: the outcome of battle often depends on his inventions and decisions. At the same time, he remains a kind and loyal friend, doing everything possible to ensure that no one on the team is harmed.

Eggman
In Nazo Unleashed and The Wrath of Nazo, Eggman isn't the main villain, but rather a secondary antagonist with ambitions. At one point, he tries to use Nazo for his own ends, believing it to be a powerful weapon, but quickly realizes he can't control its power. Eggman is portrayed as a brilliant but selfish scientist: he's willing to collaborate with the heroes if it means he can survive or gain something, but he can't be trusted. His motives remain selfish, and he always seeks to maximize the benefits of a situation.

The fan projects Sonic: Nazo Unleashed and Sonic: The Wrath of Nazo take a darker, more epic approach to the characters than the official games.

Nazo

Nazo is the main antagonist of these stories, the embodiment of the negative energy of the Chaos Emeralds. He has an arrogant and sadistic personality: he revels in his power and enjoys taunting his opponents, emphasizing that he is the "ultimate life form." His main goal is to gather all the Chaos energy he can and destroy the Master Emerald, even if it means the destruction of the world. In these fanon stories, Nazo is not just a powerful enemy, but a near-cosmic threat: cold-blooded, calculating, and merciless, yet capable of recognizing the strength of worthy opponents.

Sonic

In these adaptations, Sonic remains the same fast and confident hero, but his character becomes more determined: he perceives Nazo as a grave threat and is willing to go to extreme measures to stop him. He still protects his friends and prevents enemies from harming the weak, but in the battle with Nazo, he acts with utmost decisiveness, without his usual frivolity. His strength is presented as the only real counterweight to Nazo's destructive power.

Shadow

In these stories, Shadow acts as a powerful ally, not one who relies on emotion but acts strictly according to calculation. He sees Nazo not just as a villain, but as an anomaly that must be eliminated at any cost. Shadow often takes on the most dangerous missions and covers for the others when the situation becomes critical. While maintaining his usual aloofness and disliking unnecessary chatter, he is willing to risk himself for the common cause in crucial moments.
