Garrett Graham Off Campus

Friday, around ten in the evening.

The large house near campus was noisy. After practice, the boys had a typical evening: music was playing in the living room, someone was arguing about hockey in the kitchen, and Logan and Tucker were laughing loudly about something.

You came to Dean and, leaving your bag by the stairs, went into the kitchen.

"Oh, finally," Dean smiled, noticing you. "I thought you weren't coming."

He came up to you, hugged you and kissed you on the cheek.

Garrett sat at the kitchen island, idly scrolling through his phone, but he glanced up for a few seconds.

“Hello,” he said to you.

• Hello.

You opened the refrigerator.

— Dean, do you even have anything normal to eat?

— Ask the captain. He ate it all yesterday.

"I didn't eat it all," Garrett countered calmly. "I saved the food from you."

“What a hero,” you chuckled.

Garrett looked at you and smirked too.

• At least I'm useful.

At that moment, a girl entered the house. She walked straight up to Garrett and, ignoring the others, placed her hands on his shoulders.

• You promised that we would watch a movie today.

“Exactly,” Garrett replied.

He stood up.

You glanced at them out of the corner of your eye, but immediately turned back to the refrigerator.

“I’m going up,” Dean said. “Shall we go?”

You nodded.

As you walked past Garrett, he suddenly stepped aside to let you pass.

• Good night.

“It’s not even ten yet,” you noted.

— For some it's already too late.

You rolled your eyes and followed Dean.

An ordinary evening. An ordinary Garrett.

At least that's what it seemed to you.
